What's on my GitHub?
Three things I built to understand them properly rather than to ship them. Each one is small enough to read end to end.
jobber
A job queue on Go and Redis that scales horizontally. Workers claim jobs and renew a lease while they hold one; if a worker dies, its lease expires and the jobs it was holding are recovered and reassigned rather than lost.
bittern
Raft implemented on an event-loop model. Every state transition arrives as an event on a single loop, so the state machine needs no locks or other synchronisation primitives, and the consensus logic can be read in one pass.
nizcita
The circuit-breaker pattern for asynchronous calls, so a failing dependency does not take the caller down with it. Written twice, once in C# and once in Node.js, because the two concurrency models want quite different shapes.
